The Good of Working Tech Support

Comments like this are why I generally enjoy my job:

“Thank you for being there. Would not have recover the laptop data without you.”

Update: And then an hour or so later, I speak with someone who reminds me why I need a couple days off.

I seriously read that as “Would not have TO recover the laptop data”, not “Would not have recoverED the laptop data” at first. I thought it was kind of bitchy, but as it turns out, I’m just illiterate.

Also, I wish I worked in your bizarro world where a company has any degree of appreciation for its IT folks 🙁

Heh, well I don’t work for the IT department for my company. I work in tech support, providing support to other IT departments. So our customers show appreciation for us in tech support, but in general my coworkers don’t show much appreciation for our own IT department.

And, yeah, I realize that the quote wasn’t grammatically correct, but I copied/pasted.
